telnet -- User interface to the TELNET Protocol. Print E-mail
Mr Nikhil Shankar (ILUG-Hyd) developed the SMSTerm. It uses the ICQ
2000 protocol to present a shell on your mobile phone, which allows
you to interact with your computer from any mobile on a GSM network.

One Day One Command
===================

telnet -- User interface to the TELNET Protocol.

Summary:

The telnet command is used to communicate with another host using the
TELNET protocol. The telnet daemon (telnetd) must be running in the
another host to successfully connect to it.


Examples:

$ telnet localhost -- Telnet to the same computer.

$ telnet 127.0.0.1 -- Telnet to the same computer.

$ telnet MyServer 23 -- Telnet to MyServer thru Port #23.

$ telnet -l user1 MyServer -- Telnet to MyServer with UserName as
                             user1.

$ telnet -a MyServer -- Automatic Login. Telnet to MyServer with
                       current login name.
