adjtimex exposes low-level Linux kernel timekeeping parameters. It is mainly useful for diagnostics, experimentation, and older time-synchronisation workflows; most systems should use a supported time service such as chrony or systemd-timesyncd for normal clock synchronisation.

adjtimex -p
This displays kernel time variables such as tick and frequency adjustments.
Use caution when changing values
Options that modify tick, frequency, or other kernel time parameters can affect clock behaviour across the whole system. Do not copy old tuning values from another machine or distribution.
If the goal is simply to keep a server’s clock accurate, configure the system’s NTP client instead. Reach for adjtimex only when you specifically need to inspect or troubleshoot kernel-level timekeeping.
